Inorganic chemistry is the branch of chemistry concerned with a properties & responses of inorganic compounds. This includes whole compound except a numerous which are then depending upon chains or even rings of carbon atoms, which come termed organic compounds & are exposed under a separate running of organic chemistry. A distinction between them disciplines is non absolute & there exists very much overlap, virtually all importantly in the sub-discipline of organometallic chemistry.

Categories of inorganic chemical reactions
There are 4 categories of inorganic reaction: combination reactions, decomposition reactions, single displacement reactions, and double displacement reactions.

Branches of inorganic chemistry
Major branches of inorganic chemistry include Minerals, such as salt, asbestos, silicates, ... Metals and their alloys, like iron, copper, aluminium, brass, bronze, ... Compounds involving non-nonmetal elements, corresponding silicon, phosphorus, chlorine, oxygen, for example water Metal complexes

Commercially crucial inorganic substances include silicon chips, transistors, LCD screens, fiber optical cables and a great many catalysts.

Inorganic chemistry is depending upon physical chemistry and forms the basis for mineralogy and materials chemistry. It typically overlaps sustaining geochemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry and organometallic chemistry.

Organometallic chemistry combines aspects of organic chemistry with those of inorganic chemistry, & is formally defined when a learn of compounds containing metal-carbon bonds, although numbers of "organometallic compounds" contain no such bonds. Among a simplest organometallic compounds come a metallic carbonyls, where carbon monoxide binds to a metal through the carbon. Vitamin B12, whose active site is similar to it of haemoglobin, is a naturally-occurring, metabolically-crucial organometallic compound containing large organic components (corrin and protein) and the metal, cobalt, bonded to carbon.

A range of inorganic chemistry includes two molecular compounds, which survive when distinct molecules, and crystals, whose structures are described by infinite lattices of regularly-ordered atoms & which are then exposed by crystallography and solid-state chemistry.
